There is a ton of research out there that proves that intermittent fasting can be effective for weight loss.
So, should you try intermittent fasting?
There are a few things to consider when trying this type of diet:
- your current eating habits. If you’re already only eating once or twice a day you may not benefit from intermittent fasting. When I meet with new clients who struggle with this my goal is to get their metabolism going by encouraging them to adopt conventional eating habits–eating throughout the day and snacking whenever necessary.
- your choice in food. Since your window for caloric intake is reduced, with intermittent fasting, it’s much more important to take in quality calories when it is time to eat. That means there is much less room for taking in junk food.
- your consistency. To some, intermittent fasting is a lifestyle. To others it’s a fad. If you’re going to do it…..do it….and do it right!
